Our Coaching Philosophy

Led by two female Australian representatives, we coach from experience we've actually lived. We understand elite competition, injury, motherhood, remote work, and the reality of building a running life around everything else.

Each coach has their own style and speciality and shares their knowledge and experience with the team to ensure the best outcomes for all athletes, whether they're beginner or elite. Your training plan will be individualised for enjoyment, performance, and lifestyle. With extensive national and international experience, we'll also support you on the road, suggesting routes and sessions specific to wherever you are.

1:1 Communication

Direct access to your coach via your preferred channel. We're here for you, working side-by-side to achieve your goals.

Bespoke Training Plans

Every plan is built from scratch for you — your goals, your schedule, your strengths and limiters.

Lived Experience

Both coaches are active Australian representatives. The advice you receive comes from coaches who are still racing at the highest level.

No Lock-In Contracts

We believe in flexibility so you can pause, resume, or cancel your coaching at any time.

What coaching actually looks like

Four steps from first contact to running your best. No guesswork, no generic plans.

01

Book a free 15-minute call

Tell us where you're at, what you're working towards, and what's not working. We'll tell you honestly if we're the right fit.

02

Complete your athlete intake

A detailed questionnaire covering your training history, goals, schedule, lifestyle, and any injury history. This is how we build something that actually fits.

03

Receive your first training block

Your plan lands in TrainingPeaks within 48 hours. Every session has purpose and context — not just a number to hit.

04

Ongoing adjustment, every week

Your coach reviews your data and feedback weekly. Plans adapt to what's actually happening in your life — not what we hoped would happen.

Communication that fits your life

Coaching isn't just a plan in an app. It's a conversation — before the hard session, after the race that didn't go to plan, and when life gets in the way of training.

  • Weekly check-ins via your preferred channel
  • Annotated sessions in TrainingPeaks with coaching notes
  • Race-day support where possible
  • Plan adjustments in real time — not at the end of the month

Great effort on Tuesday's long run. HR data shows you're adapting well. For Sunday — drop pace by 20–30s/km for the first 10km given the heat forecast.

Thanks! Felt strong despite the sore legs. Do I still target the A-goal pace for the back half?

Yes — if you hit the halfway mark feeling controlled, open up. I've updated the session notes in TP with specific targets. Trust the process.

Kellie Angel, Head Coach

BOT · PhD · Advanced Recreational Running Coach · AUTRA Endorsed

Kellie Angel (née Emmerson) has been coaching both groups and individuals for over 10 years in a range of running disciplines, including trail and road, from 5km to 100 miles. She has worked with athletes at both ends of the spectrum: those simply wanting to have fun with training and beat race cut-offs, to those at the pointy end of the field, with some representing Australia.

Kellie holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and a PhD in exercise prescription. She is an Advanced Recreational Running Coach and has produced content for the Athletics Australia Level 3 Trail & Ultra Coaching course. She is a mum to two cheeky boys and has a strong understanding of the juggle that is raising kids and keeping up your own training.

Kellie has represented Australia at the Trail World Championships and Mountain Running World Championships. She holds multiple course records and sits favourably in the rankings for the Ultra Trail World Tour.

Sarah Ludowici, Coach

Exercise Physiologist · Rehab Pilates Instructor · L2 Recreational Running Coach · AUTRA Endorsed

By day Sarah Ludowici services the remote-indigenous communities of the Kimberley where she is well versed in supporting individuals in lifestyle change. By using exercise as a vehicle for self-growth, she supports individuals along their journey of change, whilst understanding that each individual is unique, and an expert within themselves.

Her own vehicle for exploration exists in ultra trail running. She has represented Australia at the World Championships, podiumed at multiple races across Australia, and had multiple fun adventures in the trails around the world. She loves sharing the joy of exercise with others, and is excited to support people in their own running journey.

Navigating a change or new routine can be tricky, and Sarah owes it to current and previous coaches that have helped guide her through training leading to a strong, healthy running career to date.

What our athletes say

Real words from the runners we coach — through big goals, life changes, and everything in between.

The last years with Kellie at the wheel of my running journey had been the best partnership I could wish for. I have her full support whether it is around my crazy work schedule, my aging body, old niggles suddenly showing their ugly face — and she navigates elegantly around each bump in the road. When I come up with six crazy adventures in a row she gently lines them up and helps me load in a way that enables me to not only train for them without breaking myself but also complete them with a satisfied smile. Thank you, Kellie, for the multiple multi-stage races, ultras and speedy trail races you have enabled me to be part of.

Ina S. Coached by Kellie

It is hard to summarise how good you are at what you do! Kellie has coached me through pregnancy, postpartum, and my return to trail running. Her flexible approach, open communication, and thoughtful use of cross-training have helped me stay healthy, manage injury risk, and return to racing competitively. She focuses on long-term consistency rather than constantly testing limits, and I've always felt supported and confident in the process.

Nicole V. Coached by Kellie

Sarah had me going from a Melbourne Marathon PB straight into a Kosci 100 Miler finish just seven weeks later — honestly, not something I'd have attempted without her handling the recovery and loading side of things. She's also open-minded as a coach; if I bring her a training idea, she'll actually engage with it rather than just sticking to her own method. That's a big part of why I've been able to push into stuff most coaches would probably tell me not to.

Everything you need to know

If something isn't answered here, just ask us on the call.

After your intake questionnaire is completed, your coach builds your first training block and uploads it to TrainingPeaks within 48 hours. Week one is deliberately conservative — we're calibrating, not testing your limits. Each session has coaching notes explaining the purpose and targets.

Ongoing coaching is $200/month, billed in advance. There's a one-off $200 setup fee that covers your intake process, initial goal-setting session, a premium TrainingPeaks account, and your first two weeks of programming.

At minimum, a weekly check-in via your preferred channel — phone, Zoom, Messenger, or TrainingPeaks messaging. You also have annotated sessions with coaching notes on each workout, and you can reach out any time something comes up. We respond within 24 hours.

Yes. We coach athletes from their first ever running session through to 100-mile race finishes. Your plan is built for where you are now, not where we'd like you to be. Beginners often get the most out of coaching because good habits formed early save years of undoing bad ones.

Yes — trail, road, mountain running, and ultra distances across all of them. Both coaches have competed across multiple disciplines so the advice is grounded in real cross-discipline experience, not just one domain.

Your plan adapts immediately. With a BOT and an Exercise Physiologist on the team, rehabilitation is something we approach with genuine clinical knowledge rather than generic advice. You can also pause coaching for up to three months free of charge.

Yes. Pause for up to three months at no cost — no questions asked. If life throws something at you, coaching should flex around it. Anything beyond six months would be treated as a fresh start with a new setup fee.

Yes, your plan is delivered via TrainingPeaks. A premium account is included in your setup fee, so you don't need to set one up yourself — we handle it as part of onboarding. It syncs with Garmin, Apple Watch, COROS, Strava, and most other platforms you're already using.
